The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced an open competitive examination to recruit translators for various ministries, departments, and organizations within the Government of India. Eligible candidates can submit their applications on the official website, ssc.nic.in, until 11 pm on August 4.
To apply, candidates need to follow these steps:
1. Visit the official SSC website — ssc.nic.in.
2. Click on the ‘Register Now’ link in the ‘Login’ section and provide all necessary details.
3. Log in using the Registration Number as the username and the auto-generated password sent to the mobile and email. Change the password when prompted on the first login.
4. Enter the category, nationality, and other required details. Agree to the declaration and submit the form.
5. Upload the necessary documents, images, and signature. Pay the application fee and submit the form.
Candidates must pay the fee and select their preferred exam center while filing the application. They should also indicate three choices for exam centers, which cannot be changed later. The computer-based examination is expected to take place in October 2022, with specific dates to be announced on the official website.
As per the official notice, vacancies will be determined in due course, and the updated vacancy position will be available on the ‘tentative vacancy’ menu of the ‘candidate’s corner.’
Application fee details:
– Candidates are required to pay Rs 100 as the application fee.
– Female candidates, those eligible for reservation, and candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwD), and Ex-Servicemen (ESM) are exempt from paying the fee.
– Failure to pay the fee may lead to debarment from the examination.
Eligibility requirements:
– Candidates must be between 18 to 30 years of age.
– Essential educational qualifications must be acquired before August 4, 2022. Detailed eligibility criteria are provided in the official notification.
– Candidates should attach a scanned colored passport-size photograph in JPEG format to the online application form. The photograph should not be older than three months from the Notice of Examination’s publication date.
The official notification emphasizes that candidates declared qualified in the Computer-Based Examination must produce all relevant certificates in original, such as mark sheets, provisional degree/diploma certificate, as proof of having acquired the minimum educational qualification on or before August 4, 2022. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of the candidature by the Commission.
